September is all about the dogs…no wait, that’s Baci speaking.

Let’s start again.

September is all about the sports…and the dogs…and enjoying our lovely Fort Collins days…and good days in general.

Here are 10 things to do in September:

1. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe- Fort Collins Museum of Discovery- Runs Aug 30th– Dec 27th Explore the universe with a fearless star pilot. In the Otterbox Digital Dome Theater. While you’re there, wander through the museum and learn more of our city’s history. 2. Ag Day- CSU – Sept 5th Enjoy an outdoor BBQ then head over to the CSU vs Savannah State football game. http://agday.agsci.colostate.edu/

3. Pooch Plunge- City Park Pool – Sept 7th Baci is a natural swimmer. His brother, Ketos, wasn’t and would stand on the bottom of the pool while paddling his front paws…tricky. 4. Historic Homes Tour- Fort Collins- Sept 13th Explore the city’s history through historic homes. Nine different homes will be open, including seven private residences. Benefits the Poudre Landmarks Foundation. http://poudrelandmarks.org/historic-homes-tour-1-1/

5. Nature’s Harvest Fest- Gardens at Spring Creek – Sept 12th – 9AM-3PM – Celebrate all things nature and harvest in the community with a variety of activities including cooking workshops, live butterfly release, and chile roasting. http://www.fcgov.com/gardens/programsspecial-events/special-events/natures-harvest-fest

6. Fort Collins Comic Con- Northside Aztlan Center- Sept 12th Brings together fans of all sorts of interests from Harry Potter to Star Trek. Go and feed your inner geek. http://downtownfortcollins.com/events/fort-collins-comic-con

7. The French Nest Open Air Market – Downtown Fort Collins – Sept 19th Purchase vintage, antique, artisan, hand-made, and hand-collected goods strait from the artisans and collectors…great for gifts. http://www.thefrenchnestmarket.com/

8. FORTtoberfest- Downtown Fort Collins- Sept 18th-19th A Fort Collins style Oktober fest celebrating our city’s outdoor patios, music scene, sustainability, and local brewing industry. http://downtownfortcollins.com/events/fortoberfest/

9. Open Streets- Two miles on Remington St (between Lake and Mountain)- The street will be closed to cars. Instead, enjoy a public street and celebrate alternative transportation by foot, bike, jog, and rollerblade. http://www.fcgov.com/openstreets/

10. Doggie Olympics- City Park – Sept 27th Benefits Larimer Animal-People Partnership- Get inspired by demonstrations of activities people can do with their dogs. http://www.colapp.org/doggie-olympics/
